Interviewer: 'But where were they killed?'
Dirtwater: 'Malagate was killed somewhere in Beyond. The place is yet unknown. As were Kokor Hekkus and Viole Falushe. Lens Larque was killed on Methel and Howard Alan Treesong on Bethune. All places also in Beyond.'
Interviewer: 'So, the killer goes free?'
Dirtwater: 'There's no law in Beyond. Which accounts for a subtle difference. Whether he goes free is a whole other matter. He certainly will not be hunted by IPCC and has committed no crime according to laws in the Oikumene. His only worry could be the former... erm... members of staff of his victims, so to speak. If they hold a grudge than he might find Beyond a tricky place to dwell.'

Fascinating blog and concept! I've always wished Vance could have written a coda to Gersen's saga.
A minor point: Methel and Dar Sai at least weren't Beyond, Ithink, though close to the verge. Bethune's location is less clear.
